Open the Outlook invite you want to remove Teams meeting from.
1.1 Launch the Outlook App: First, open Outlook on your computer, laptop, or mobile device. This should open the main window, which shows a list of your emails, contacts, and calendar.
1.2 Select the Calendar Tab: Once the window is open, find and select the Calendar tab. This will bring up the calendar view, which displays upcoming events in a list format.
1.3 Open the Specific Invite You Need to Edit: Now that the calendar has been opened, find and select the invite that you need to edit. This should open the invite in a separate window, enabling you to view the details and make changes. To remove the Teams meeting, remove the Teams link from the invite and save the changes.
Delete the Teams meeting from the invite.
2.1 – To remove the Teams meeting from the Outlook invite, the user must first locate the “Teams Meeting” link at the top of the invite. The user must then click this link to access the meeting options.
2.2 – Once the meeting options are visible, the user must then select the “Cancel” button to begin the cancellation process. This button will typically be located at the bottom of the meeting options.
2.3 – After clicking the “Cancel” button, the user will be presented with a confirmation prompt. To complete the cancellation, the user must then click the “OK” button to complete the process.
Edit the Outlook invite accordingly.
3.1 Remove any extraneous information that was associated with the Teams meeting, such as the meeting URL or dial-in numbers. This involves removing any information related to joining the Teams meeting in the Outlook invite, such as the meeting link, dial-in numbers, and other access information.
3.2 Adjust the invite’s start and end time based on the original length of the Teams meeting that was removed. This step involves changing the start and end time for the Outlook invite to match the original length of the Teams meeting that was removed. This ensures that it is still accurate and clearly reflects the amount of time that was originally intended.
3.3 Include any additional messages needed in the invitation body. This step involves adding any additional information that may be needed to the Outlook invite body. This could include reminders of the original Teams meeting, any updated information or requirements, or any other relevant information that needs to be communicated.
Invite attendees back to the Outlook invite.
4.1 Click the “Send” button to send out the update invite: Once you have edited the outlook invite and made the necessary changes, click the “Send” button which can be found in the upper-right corner of the invite. This will send the updated invite to all attendees.
4.2 Confirm that attendees have received the updated invite: After clicking the “Send” button, it is important to confirm that all attendees have received the updated invite. You can do this by checking your sent items folder and ensuring that the updated invite was sent to each attendee. Additionally, if you have included an option for attendees to respond to the invite, you can check to see if all attendees have responded with a “Yes” or “No”. This will let you know if the attendees have successfully received the updated invite.
